Quarter 1, 2024 / Sutter Mutual Water Company Update

New Flow Meters and More for Tisdale Pumping Plant

Some much-needed updates to the Tisdale Pumping Plant are underway. We are installing six new McCrometer electromagnetic flow meters to improve our measurements of water being diverted from the river.

In addition, we are adding a variable frequency drive on one of the pumps. This allows Sutter Mutual Water Company to improve flow control at the pumping plant. This is a $2 million dollar effort with half of the funding coming through a WaterSmart efficiency grant from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Davids Engineering is assisting with the design and installation of the new drive and meters.
